Each block measures approximately 8–9 inches across, with slight variations in size.
Set of 20 vintage gingham fabric squares embellished with intricate white chicken-scratch embroidery. The assortment includes red, blue, green and burgundy checks with lace-like floral, geometric, starburst, cross and lattice motifs.
Most pieces appear to be lightweight cotton or cotton-blend fabric with straight-cut raw edges. The burgundy square has a more textured feel and pinked borders. These versatile handmade blocks can be incorporated into quilting, appliqué, slow stitching, patchwork clothing, pillows, ornaments or other creative projects. They would also make a striking large-scale textile wall display when individually framed or arranged together.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition with no flaws noted. Loose thread ends and minor differences in shape are consistent with unfinished handworked craft blocks.
