Authentic late‑19th‑century men’s dress shirt featuring classic Victorian construction and original maker markings. This is a pull‑over, half‑placket shirt designed for use with a detachable collar, typical of the 1880–1900 period. The shirt is made from crisp white cotton with a beautifully preserved hand‑applied U‑shaped back yoke, tight gathers at the top of the placket, and reinforced facings.
Inside the placket is the original black stamp reading “PATENT ENDLESS FACINGS”, a period innovation for reinforced durability. The neckline retains its original three buttonholes (two front, one back) for collar studs. Inside the neck is the woven white label “THE GIANT” with red embroidered Trade / Mark and acorn trademark. Additional black stamped sizing reads 16 and S.16 33, consistent with Victorian sizing for a 16" neck and 33" length.
This is a rare, well‑preserved example of a true Victorian men’s shirt, complete with all the correct construction details.

Excellent overall condition for its age. Fabric is crisp, bright, and well‑preserved with strong structure. No holes, tears, or major wear noted. There are a few very small brownish spots on the cotton (see photos). All original stamps and labels remain clear and intact. A remarkable surviving example of late‑19th‑century menswear.
